Bio:
Hui-yi Kuo is a Chinese American printmaker and illustrator currently based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She obtained her BFA in printmaking from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2022.
Kuo’s work frequently deals with memory, nostalgia and her Chinese culture, often using her zodiac sign, the rabbit, as a motif in her works. She enjoys working with animal imagery and is drawn to the variety of textures and intricate details found in nature. Kuo aims to bring a little bit of joy and sentimentality to her audience with her rabbit themed work.
Her work has been collected by the Dolphin Press and Print and The University of the Arts Book Arts Archive. Kuo’s work has also been selected for multiple exhibitions throughout the United States as well as internationally, in Japan.
